TITLE: Audit & Finance Committee

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The City of Regina is looking to fill vacancies on the newly established Audit & Finance Committee. We are looking for qualified applicants who are passionate about their community and want to share their voices in a wide range of issues relating to the City’s finances and internal controls.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The Committee is responsible for the considering and making recommendations to Council pertaining to systems and process related to:
- The preparation of financial statements, risk management, disaster recovery, internal controls, regulatory compliance; procurement; and
- Internal and external audit.
Estimated time: 2 to 6 hours/month

Requirements:
Candidates will:
- hold a professional accounting/auditing designation and or related degree in Commerce, Finance or Business.
- bring experience, skills and expertise that contribute to financial literacy.
- have experience preparing, auditing or analyzing financial statements with complex accounting matters.
- have knowledge of risk management, corporate governance, and strategy development.
- have an understanding of internal controls and procedures for financial reporting to support informed and effective decisions.
Applicants must be a Canadian Citizen, 18 or older, and reside in Saskatchewan.
No person appointed to the committee can hold a municipal, provincial or federal elected or appointed office, or be employed by any level of government on a full-time basis directly or under contract.
