Member Licence and Professional Corporation Renewal

Member Licence Renewal

2026 member licence renewal is due on or before December 1, 2025 to ensure your professional accounting licence remains active with CPA Saskatchewan and is completed online through the Portalin the following order:

1. Report your licensed CPD hours taken in the 2025 calendar year (as required by Board Rules 316.12, 316.13, and 316.14); and

2. Complete the 2026 member licence renewal declaration (as required by Bylaw 16.5).

Please note the firm licence and registration renewal is completed online separately and you will receive a separate communication for the firm (if applicable) on November 1, 2025.

Professional Corporation Renewal

2026 professional corporation renewal is due on or before December 31, 2025 to ensure your professional corporation registration remains active with CPA Saskatchewan and is completed online through the Portalin the following order:

1. Complete the 2026 professional corporation declaration (as required by The Professional Corporations Act and Bylaw 15.7); and

2. Pay the 2026 professional corporation registration renewal fees (as required by Bylaw 15.9).

Professional corporations that are not renewed by December 31, 2025 will be considered expired under Bylaw 15.6.

       

                                                                       

Information Required for Licence Renewal

We recommend that you gather the following information prior to proceeding online (for more information on the minimum licensing qualifications, please visit our website).

  1. Eligible practical experience hours in professional accounting (comprehensive or specified licences) or number of completed compilation engagements (compilation licence) within the past 12 months.
  2. Details supporting verifiable continuing professional development activities relating to the practice of professional accounting (i.e., assurance or financial reporting subject matter for comprehensive or specified licences OR subject matter relating to compilations or quality management for the compilation licence) since January 1, 2025.
  3. The name and member ID number of the licensed member providing your competency assessment reference (comprehensive or specified licences). Alternatively, you may complete a self-assessment of your competency as it relates to practice professional accounting (available in the online renewal form for all licence types).

It is recommended that you clear your internet browser’s history and use a private window or incognito mode prior to beginning renewal.

Not Renewing?

If you do not intend to renew your licence for 2026, you must email licensing@cpask.ca with your completed licence cancellation formby December 1, 2025. All licence cancellations include publication on the website, firm newsletter and in our online directory, Find a CPA. Cancellation after December 1 may not be reflected in the firm roster and the firm may be billed for the 'CPA Licensed Member' category. Refunds for any incorrect categories within the firm roster will not be processed in accordance with our Refund Policy

Changes to Licence Type

If you require changes to the type of licence you have, email licensing@cpask.ca and we will forward the required link or forms before you proceed with renewal.

Licence is Renewed Upon Submission

Once you have submitted the renewal information, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours that summarizes the information entered. This completes the renewal process and you may proceed to authorize engagement reports in 2026. You may review a digital copy of your licence within the Portal 24 hours after submission under My Profile > Licence. We may request further information within 30 days of the renewal submission.

Licence Expires if Not Renewed Before December 31, 2025

A licence is considered expired if not renewed prior to December 31, 2025. After December 31, you will no longer be permitted to practice professional accounting and may be subject to a cease and desist and/or penalty if you continue to practice without a licence. If your licence is expired and you wish to continue practicing professional accounting, you may be required to complete and meet all licensing qualifications on an initial licence application which includes an application fee of $250 + GST.
