UPDATE FROM CPA CANADA

Recently, CPA Canada announced an opportunity for CPAs in Ontario and Quebec to continue their CPA Canada membership following the withdrawal of the two CPA bodies from the national Collaboration Accord with CPA Canada on December 20, 2024.
The Chartered Professional Accountants of Saskatchewan (CPASK) is focused on the protection of the public interest and the important national work that needs to be done, including standards setting. The national collaboration framework is currently being reviewed, including the membership structure with CPA Canada, but the unified CPA profession will continue to thrive.
CPASK values and remains committed to working in partnership with all CPA bodies in Canada and Bermuda. We are actively engaged in discussions with these bodies regarding important common interests, including standards setting. We continue to play a leadership role in various committees and subcommittees nationally to ensure the continued growth and success of the CPA profession.
We remain focused on protecting the public interest by regulating CPA members, candidates, and firms in Saskatchewan. The ongoing national discussions do not impact CPASK’s ability to meet its legislated regulatory responsibilities and its day-to-day operations, or the ability of Saskatchewan CPAs to perform their professional duties.
