Accounting & Business Knowledge Requirements for the CPA Professional Program

Learn more about the academic requirements for the new CPA Professional Program launching in May 2027.

To be eligible for the new CPA Professional Program, applicants must meet the academic and non-academic requirements outlined on CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB) Admission Requirements. This includes demonstrating accounting and business knowledge by passing the Knowledge Assessment, unless the applicant qualifies for an exemption based on relevant accounting and business coursework.

NOTE: If an applicant completes all of the courses listed on the Academic Prerequisites Guide for CPA PEP, along with the other entrance requirements, by December 31, 2028, they will be exempt from the Knowledge Assessment in the new CPA Professional Program.

The qualifying courses outlined by the post-secondary institutions below identify the accounting and business course equivalents that may be used to meet all or a portion of the Knowledge Assessment exemption criteria for admission to the new CPA Professional Program. Applicants do not need to complete all courses at the same post-secondary institution. Review the new CPA Professional Program Accounting & Business Knowledge Requirement for full details.
